Helping nature guides

These publications are a great introduction to how you can help nature in our region. They are written specifically for the Long Point Basin and Carolinian region and are packed with useful information on everything from selecting hardy and beautiful native plants for your garden to identifying and creating habitat for local reptiles. These pocket-size full colour guidebooks are only available as printed publications, but are very reasonably priced. Buy in bulk to save even more and share this great information with your friends, neighbours and family.

Conserving Carolinian Reptiles

Conserving Carolinian Reptiles is a profusely illustrated handbook with over 150 colour photographs. This 60-page publication is an excellent identification guide to all Ontario turtles, snakes and skinks, and includes additional information about reptile biology, the Carolinian Region and conservation.

Gardening with native plants

Gardening with Native Plants is packed with over 60 colour photographs and introduces the reader to the benefits of native plant gardening. Reptile Habitat Factsheets

Habitat loss and degradation are among the greatest threats to native wildlife. Long Point Basin Land Trust's nature reserves help protect vitally important habitats, but there are many things that private landowners and partner conservation groups can do to help also. These factsheets about reptile habitat creation illustrate some of the many ways people can help protect and recover species at risk populations.
